In the early hours of the morning I walk across a field. I’m with a friend – she seems to know where we’re going, and I trust her, I sense that she’s taking me somewhere good. In the distance there’s a basketball court illuminated by lamp posts. We get closer and there’s a group of women playing a basketball game. One of the women, a complete stranger, comes up to me, pulls her mask down, says my name, draws me into a tight embrace. The warmth of her touch is exhilarating. Adrenaline surges through me, we both know that we’re breaking the rules. This basketball court in the dead of night is a hidden oasis.
