I remember seeing the Santa Monica pier.
Sitting at a restaurant, talking to people, laughing.
I didn’t see their faces, only myself, being bubbly and talkative — as usual.
The details I don’t quite remember that well,
But I’m pretty sure they aren’t important.
There were no deadlines, no working,
No uncertainty, no pressure. No anxiety.
The exact opposite, in fact.
The sun in my face, and the feeling
Of not having to be anywhere but where I am
Right here, right now.
Oh, to be in LA once again.
