Staying at home
I’m late to perform something and realise I must put makeup on. Looking in the mirror I see my eye is surrounded by sky blue duct tape. I peel it off. I dip my finger in a pot of something that looks to be a dull bronze colour, but as I smooth it across my eye it is a glorious glittering gold filled with stars. It sweeps onto my eyelid and up to my brow evenly and satisfyingly. I pause to appreciate this, knowing that I am late, and that I do not know the dance routine I am supposed to be performing.
