HARRIET HUNT
Naarm Melbourne / Midwife
Working in a hospital's birthsuite
I am at work, Room 17, and a labouring woman I am looking after has developed a temperature. I am trying to prime a line of intravenous paracetamol, which I have been shown how to do by another midwife just the day before. I become frantic, and instead of following the correct steps, I decide to decant the paracetamol into smaller and smaller syringes. Each time it becomes more difficult and I am losing large volumes of the drug. The dream ends, and I have not given the woman the drug, I do not know her fate.
