CLAIRE WARD-BEVERIDGE

Toronto / Office Worker & Psychotherapy Student

Working from home, Day 20.

Claire lives with her cat, Cheryl and fiancé, Ian in the Junction in Toronto.

I’m in some kind of helicopter or hovercraft — white and made of glass. We’re flying over the ocean near the shore, so there’s lots of bright green seaweed near the surface. I don’t know who’s piloting the thing and I feel a bit nervous about how high we’ve started to climb in the sky. Then I’m screaming at my dad for wanting to sell an acoustic guitar that I’ve had since I was a teenager. His wide eyed faux-confusion is infuriating. Then I’m sitting outside of the Quebec Street mall in my hometown of Guelph with my friends Alec and Trevor and we’re drinking tall cans of beer. I’m switching back and forth between a tall can of sour beer and a green glass bottle of Dos Equis, the latter of which I’ve been drinking fairly regularly since the pandemic started.
